A larger diameter cubic inch two piece articulated piston with forged steel crown cryo treated ceramic coated for maximum strength, to allow a closer fit to the cylinder wall and a cast aluminum skirt Teflon coated for less liner drag.
Our precision liquid forged aluminum pistons are deep cryogenically treated to relieve stress, stabilize the metal to be more durable and less susceptible to micro-cracking due to the denser structure. This reduces friction and heat, increasing wear resistance. Using TBC ceramic thermal barrier coating to piston dome holds heat inside the combustion chamber, for a better burn where it can be converted to horsepower. The Poly-Moly low friction polymer coating drastically reduces friction between the piston skirt and cylinder wall. The combination of these two coatings prevents premature piston cracking, burning or skirt wear as well as increasing fuel mileage. The same pistons can be reinstalled in many engines during a 500,000 mile rebuild, because they are in such good condition. All kits contain piston, pin, snap rings, ring sets and rods. All pistons are balanced as a set.
Gapless Piston Rings
Total Seals’ patented Gapless Piston Rings provide increased performance through unmatched sealing of the cylinder and combustion gasses in the combustion chamber. Increased horsepower, torque, with better fuel economy and longer engine life due to less blow by and oil contamination.
Stock diesel engines carry a .018 end ring gap clearance. By using a stainless steel Keystone Plasma Coated Rings with a #2 compression ring gapless – we can then tighten the ring gap o #1 ring to .010. And by using Quckseat® Powder on the liner walls in assembly, we can speed up ring seating break-in time to about 5 minutes of running time.
